GENERAL OBJECTİVE

The general objective of the project is developing the sustainable employment in agricultural sector on equality basis within the framework of decent future of work approach through technological transformation. 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

The specific objectives of the project are;

  • Increasing the employability of young people in labor market by improving their technological competence in agricultural sector in accordance with the decent future of work approach 
  • Creating equal opportunities especially for women and migrants agricultural workers by adapting them to the technological innovations
  • Developing the curriculum basis of “Regenerating the workforce through technology”.

TARGET GROUPS OF THE PROJECT

  • Students and graduates between the ages of 20-30, living in İzmir and studying in the field of agriculture and food.
  • Young farmers between the ages of 18-30 living in İzmir and young people whose families are seasonal agricultural workers.
  • Agricultural workers working in olive groves in İzmir, 60% of whom are women and 30% of whom are refugees.

ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE TARGET GROUP WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

  • Determination of information technology competencies of young farmers, higher education students and graduates.
  • Determining the conceptual framework of the trainings by holding meetings and workshops with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provision of online training platform, mobile application, virtual reality glasses and training equipment.
  • Educational trainings for students and graduates of agriculture and food education.
  • Theoretical and practical trainings for young farmers and young people whose families are seasonal agricultural workers.
  • "Technology and Sustainability in Agriculture Conference" and final meeting.

PROJECT OUTPUTS

  • By enabling 60 young people to specialize in agricultural technologies, their transition to the labor market will be facilitated.
  • The adaptation of young people to smart agricultural technologies and their digital competencies will be improved by 80% and a "new generation young farmer" profile will be created.
  • Vocational skills of 200 agricultural workers, 120 of whom are women and 60 of whom are refugees, will be improved with technology-based sectoral trainings.
