Karaburun Sultana Raisin Production Project
Thanks to its climate and rich natural resources, the crops produced in Karaburun, a coastal town in İzmir, possesses original characteristics. Having widely known as one of the centers for vineyards, Karaburun now produces very limited grapes, which has caused Karaburun Sultana grape to be forgotten.
İzmir Commodity Exchange and Eğlenhoca District Administration launched rejuvenation project for re-producing organic Karaburun Sultana raisin and established new plantations of approximately 2.5 acres and the first products were harvested in 2010.
