İZLADAŞ becomes the 'analysis authority' of Turkish cotton in a short time
ICE Laboratory, R&D and Consultancy Services Inc. (IZLADAŞ) that was brought into operation by İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) three years ago has become an authority in the analysis and classification of Turkish cotton in a short time. Serving all cotton-related sectors, mainly the members of İzmir Commodity Exchange, with its İzmir Central Laboratory and Belevi-Selçuk Cotton Fibre Analysis Laboratory, İZLADAŞ enriched and contributed greatly to many institutions and organizations such as Aegean Agricultural Products Licensed Warehousing Inc. (ELIDAŞ); commodity exchanges, universities, research institutes, textile and ginning factories, and private seed companies that operate in the Aegean Region and all over Türkiye.
İZLADAŞ, which was licensed by the Ministry of Customs and Trade on 31 December 2014 as the competent classifier for cotton, bears the title of being the first and only laboratory in this area.
Subjected to the ICA Bremen Cotton Round Test Control System, İZLADAŞ regularly analyses the cotton samples delivered at 3 different times every year and reports the results to Bremen. This system makes it possible to compare the fibre analysis devices of İZLADAŞ laboratories with those of 124 laboratories operating in the same field in different countries in terms of measurement competency.
Bülent Uçak, treasurer of the Board of Directors of the ICE, said "We are of the opinion that İZLADAŞ, which holds a license as the competent classifier for cotton and is the only laboratory in this area in Türkiye, will make significant contributions to our region and country. It is of utmost importance today to utilize the information and technology in order to be able to make progress in agriculture. İZLADAŞ is a very important player in the cotton sector that clears the way to become a shareholder in the market in addition to ensuring to render the quality and economic value as important assets in the market".
The results of the analyses carried out in the laboratory are stored in a database by years on the basis of location and type of institution, and this database thus presents a serious resource that reveals the physical properties of cotton produced in Türkiye.
