ICE speeds up promotional activities for E-Commodity Bazaar
The E-Commodity Bazaar trading platform, an electronic commodity trading marketplace established by İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) in order to improve the trading of agricultural and food products, was introduced to the members of Çanakkale Commodity Exchange (ÇCE) in the meeting held on 30 November 2016. The meeting was attended by Sefer Kaya Üzen, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the ÇCE, Abdullah Deniz, president of the Assembly of the ÇCE, members of the ÇCE and Mustafa Yağcıoğlu, director of the R&D Department of the ICE, and Övül Sökeli, an assistant specialist from the ICE.
In his opening speech of the meeting, Mr. Üzen stated that e-commerce was an important opportunity for Turkish entrepreneurs to expand abroad and said, "We dearly value the E-Commodity Bazaar project developed by İzmir Commodity Exchange in order to enhance the trading of agricultural and food products".
Following the opening speech, Mr. Mustafa Yağcıoğlu made a presentation informing the participants about the electronic commerce and the working system of E-Commodity Bazaar trading portal. Highlighting that the electronic commerce had grown exponentially in the world trade in a short period of time, Mr. Yağcıoğlu said, "Türkiye is one of the few countries in the world with a significant agricultural production potential. We can achieve a much higher added value in the agricultural sector in Türkiye provided that this potential is supported with an effective marketing system. In this sense, electronic commerce also offers significant opportunities for the agricultural sector.
Both parties expressed their gratitute for the meeting held, and wished fruitful outcomes for the members of their Exchanges.
