4th National Cotton Summit to be held in İzmir on December 16th
The fourth of the National Cotton Summits held every two years by the National Cotton Council will be held under the sponsorship of İzmir Commodity Exchange, Kahramanmaraş Commodity Exchange, Söke Commodity Exchange, Çukobirlik (Union of Çukurova Cotton, Peanut and Oil Seeds Agricultural Sales Cooperatives), Aegean Exporters Union, John Deere, Progen and Textile Employers' Union in Kaya Thermal Hotel on Friday, 16 December 2016. In these summits that bring together the producers, traders and industrialists of the Turkish cotton sector, and the representatives of the related ministries, the developments in the cotton sector are evaluated; the problems are discussed and solution proposals are brought forward. The conclusions reached at the end of the summit are made public through a report.
Mr. Faruk Çelik, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, is expected to participate in the 4th National Cotton Summit to be organized with the slogan 'National Agricultural, National Cotton'.
Mr. Barış Kocagöz, president of the Assembly of İzmir Commodity Exchange and chairperson of the Board of Directors of National Cotton Council, said "Our Board picked the slogan 'NATIONAL AGRICULTURE, NATIONAL COTTON' in order to emphasize the concept of 'nationality' that is the main element of the solidarity we need these days in order to successfully overcome the extraordinary conditions our country is in and highlight the importance of the National Agriculture Project of our Ministry and of the cotton in this project. The summit, which we believe will bring about beneficial results for Turkish cotton sector and host our Minister of Agriculture and representatives from other related ministries, is expected excitedly by the members of the cotton sector.
