ICE Delegation in the Netherlands
Delegation of Izmir Commodity Exchange comprising Işınsu Kestelli, chairperson of the Board of Directors, Barış Kocagöz, chairperson of the Assembly and the members of the Board of Directors and the Assembly, paid a business and study visit to the Netherlands on 23-26 April 2015. Ahmet Güldal, who is the director of Izmir Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, also attended the visit programme in which FloraHolland, Turkish Embassy in The Hague and Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce were visited.
The first international introduction of the electronic commodity marketplace called "E-Commodity Bazaar" that has been established by Izmir Commodity Exchange in order to increase the foreign trade capacities of the member firms was carried out during this business and study visit by the delegation. Ideas were exchanged between the parties with regard to the prospective cooperation that can be established between the two countries.
On the first day of the visit, FloraHolland was visited and the workflow within the institution was examined. Having made observations in six different international auction units that offer up to 120.000 different kinds of products daily to its customers, the delegation followed the purchase and sale transactions in FloraHolland that is one of the world's leading institutions in the sale of plants and flowers.
Under the second part of the visit programme, the delegation of the ICE consisting of Işınsu Kestelli, chairperson of the Board of Directors, Barış Kocagöz, chairperson of the Assembly, Ömer Gökhan Tuncer, deputy chairperson of the Assembly, Ercan Korkmaz, deputy chairperson of the Board of Directors, the Treasurer Bülent Arman, the Board Member Bülent Uçak, the Secretary General Erçin Güdücü and Dilara Sürgü, advisor of the chairperson, visited Kamer Van Koophandel, namely Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce.
Welcomed by Cor Backer, Türkiye Desk Coordinator of Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce, and the Hague Commercial Counsellor M. Tayfun Erkan, the ICE delegation exchanged ideas with the hosts regarding the possible cooperation that can be established between two countries.
Turkish Embassy in The Hague was visited under the third part of the visit. The ICE delegation comprising Işınsu Kestelli, chairperson of the Board of Directors, Ömer Gökhan Tuncer, deputy chairperson of the Assembly, Ercan Korkmaz, deputy chairperson of the Board of Directors, the Treasurer Bülent Arman, the Board Member Bülent Uçak, the Assembly Member Güngör Şarman, Ahmet Güldal, director of Izmir Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Izmir Honorary Consul of France and Aegean Region Commercial Attaché Zeliha Toprak, the Secretary General Erçin Güdücü, Deputy Secretary Generals Dr. Pınar Nacak and Sinem Çelikten, and Dilara Sürgü, advisor of the chairperson, had a meeting with Sadık Arslan, who is the Turkish Ambassador in The Hague. M. Tayfun Erkan, the Hague Commercial Counsellor, was also present in the meeting.
