Our Grievous Loss
Aydın Kesen, the former chairperson of Izmir Commodity Exchange Board of Directors, passed away on Thursday, 11 June 2015. Following the funeral held at Alsancak Hocazade Mosque on Friday, 12 June 2015, Kesen was buried in Çeşme Mamurbaba Çakabey Cemetery following the noon prayer.
Born in 1949 in Izmir, Aydin Kesen worked as a broker from 1967 to 1971 and as the exchange agent from 1971 to the present day in Izmir Commodity Exchange. Aydın Kesen served Izmir Commodity Exchange as the president and member of the Professional Committee between 1984 and 2009, and as the member of the Assembly from 1992 to 2009. Following his membership to the Board of Directors in November of 1999, Kesen worked as the deputy chairperson of the Board of Directors between 2001 and 2007, and served as the chairperson of the Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009.
Aydın Kesen was a cotton agent in Izmir Commodity Exchange for nearly 50 years during a period from 1967 to 2015. He was granted the title of Honorary Member of the ICE on 28 February 2002.
