Supporting for Female Entrepreneurship in Agriculture

Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Provincial Directorate of Izmir had run a training program named Supporting for Female Entrepreneurship in Agriculture. As a result of this training some women entrepreneurs deserved to get certificate and the certificate distribution ceremony was made. Governor of İzmir Mustafa Toprak, President of Izmir Commodity Exchange Assembly Barış Kocagöz, Chairperson of İzmir Commodity Exchange Işınsu Kestelli and İzmir Provincial Director of Agriculture Ahmet Güldal participated the event on 27.05.2014 in İzmir Commodity Exchange.

The opportunities provided by the project to women entrepreneurs:

With the project run by the Provincial Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Livestock female farmers had an opportunity to be a self-employed entrepreneur and thanks to this project, for the first time Türkiye accepted the idea of “women” entrepreneurs. Women entrepreneurs can benefit the grant support of up to 30,000 Turkish Liras and be able to benefit from the possibility of zero-interest loans up to 70,000 Turkish Liras.

Supporting  for Female Entrepreneurship in Agriculture project was running under favor of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, and KOSGEB. The first phase of the project began with the identification of the women who will be trained. 133 women who were also registered in Farmer Registration System from 24 districts, applied for the project. At the end of the eliminations 50 women won the right to receive education. 50 women farmers were trained on various topics like development of local products, the marketing of ecotourism in rural areas, the micro- credit facilities, bank credit facilities, for 10 days.
