Instagram photo and video contest by the ICE

The Instagram Photo and Video Contest (# itbyarisma18) organized by İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) between 2 July and 30 November 2018 came to an end.

Mehmet Aslan (@mehmetaslan.photoarts) became the winner of the 'Cotton Photograph' category while Seyit Konyalı (@seyit_konyali) took the first place in the 'Olive-Olive oil Photograph' category. Ramazan Emiroğlu (@remiroglu) came the first in the 'Olive-Olive oil Video' category.

Having stating that the contestants participated in the contest with the photographs and/or videos regarding the production, processing and harvesting processes of cotton and olive-olive oil, which are the strategic agricultural products of the Aegean region and Türkiye in general, Mrs. Işınsu Kestelli, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the ICE, said, "Our Instagram contest has become a traditional event, which we have organized for the third time this year and is participated by more photo and video enthusiasts each year passing. We plan to continue holding the contest on different products in the coming years as well."

Stressing that the ICE tried to use social media, which is a significant environment to be present in, effectively, Mrs. Kestelli added, "The advertising work we carried out on Facebook and Instagram for the contest was published 3.644.690 times. The contest announcement reached 686.059 people through social media. 3.225 people clicked on our website at http://www.itb.org.tr and went to the contest page on this website. 1020 artworks participated in the contest. 585 works that were in compliance with the contest specification were submitted to the jury for evaluation. The great interest shown by all participants to the contest made us very happy."

A total of 31.000 Turkish Liras was awarded to the winners.

In the contest organized in categories of Cotton/Olive-Olive oil Photograph and Cotton/Olive-Olive oil Video, the first, second and third places were awarded 5.000, 3000 and 2000 TL, respectively. The honourable mention was awarded 1000 TL. At the end, a total of 32 artworks were deemed worthy of exhibition, 11 of which were awarded with the above-said amounts. The award ceremony and exhibition of the contest will be held in the ICE in the coming days.
