ICE announces the winners of the idea contest
İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) announced the winners of "Agriculture Rises with the Youngsters" idea contest, which has been organized by the ICE for the third time this year to support young people who want to work in the field of agriculture. Just like the previous year, the contest was held under the following topics: Plant and Animal Production, Agricultural Marketing and Branding, Information and Technology in Agriculture, Rural Development and Women.
The ICE chairperson Mrs. Işınsu Kestelli expressed that the interest shown in the "Agriculture Rises with the Youngsters" idea contest by the youngsters who want to study in the field of agriculture was quite important in terms of rendering the agriculture sustainable, which is of strategic importance for our country. Having expressed that keeping alive the interest of young people in agriculture and livestock sector was of vital importance for the continuity and strengthening of the sector, Mrs. Kestelli said, "As İzmir Commodity Exchange, which has served İzmir and Turkish economy for 128 years, we are an institution that has adopted the principle of working in the light of universal values in all areas we operate. We believe that success is not the outcome of chance, but a product of stable and hard work. To this end, we have pioneered the development of creative ideas by emboldening the young people who want to do business in the field of agriculture with our "Agriculture Rises with the Youngsters" idea contest, which we have organized for the third time this year. Working with the understanding of 'from Tradition to the Future', we are always to support our youngsters in their path to improve the agriculture".
As a result of the evaluations carried out by the jury comprising the ICE board members, academicians and representatives of official institutions from among 118 projects that complied with the contest specification following the completion of the applications on 15 December 2018, the first, second and third projects were awarded 5000, 3500 and 2500 Turkish Liras, respectively.
In addition to the first three, three more contesters, whose ideas were deemed by the jury worth awarding, were awarded 1500 TL each as an honourable mention. In addition to the 6 winners, 25 other project ideas were considered worthy of exhibition. The awards will be presented to the winners at a ceremony to be held in İzmir Commodity Exchange soon.

3rd: Enes Burak İpek - Bale Lanyard, Silage Stretch Films and Feed Sacks Edible by Animals
Honourable mention: Uğur Özder - Auto-Controlled Plant Hoeing Machine
Honourable mention: Ayşe Tunca - Paper from Sunflower Seeds
Honourable mention: Hüseyin Doğan Bozkurt - Pulses Snacks; Lentils, Chickpeas and Beans Chips
