Antalya Commodity Exchange joins the E-Commodity Bazaar network

İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) continues to expand the service network of E-Commodity Bazaar electronic commodities trading platform developed by the ICE to improve the electronic trading of agricultural and food products among its members at the national and international level.

A delegation from Antalya Commodity Exchange comprising the Deputy Chairperson Mr. Halil Bülbül, Secretary General Mr. Tolgahan Alavant and a group of producers that are members of the Exchange, who were in İzmir for OLIVTECH Fair, paid a visit to İzmir Commodity Exchange on Thursday 10 May 2018. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Bülent Arman and Mr. Ercan Korkmaz, the deputy chairpersons of the Board of Directors of İzmir Commodity Exchange. The Treasurer Mr. Bülent Uçak, Ms. Sinem Çelikten, the Deputy Secretary General, and Dr. Pınar Nacak, the advisor of the ICE, were also present in the meeting where the delegation was informed about the E-Commodity Bazaar electronic commodities trading platform. At the end of the meeting, a cooperation protocol was signed between Antalya and İzmir Commodity Exchanges regarding the E-Commodity Bazaar platform.

With this protocol, members of Antalya Commodity Exchange will be able to promote their companies and products on the E-Commodity bazaar portal and they will get the opportunity to cooperate with many different local and foreign companies that are also registered in the system.

Commenting on the promotional activities carried out and cooperation opportunities sought for E-Commodity Bazaar platform, the deputy chairperson of the Board of Directors Mr. Ercan Korkmaz mentioned that as İzmir Commodity Exchange they did their part in ensuring the agricultural sector attracted the attention and importance it deserves in Türkiye and that it was of vital importance to cooperate with other commodity exchanges/chambers in expanding the network of E-Commodity Bazaar platform. Mr. Korkmaz noted that they were pleased to have concluded a protocol and would get the chance to work with the members of Antalya Commodity Exchange.

The deputy chairperson of Antalya Commodity Exchange Mr. Halil Bülbül said, "We are happy to find out that the E-Commodity Bazaar electronic trading platform will contribute dearly to the promotion and trading of the main agricultural products of Antalya. I wish our cooperation with İzmir Commodity Exchange to be fruitful for both parties."

During the visit, Dr. Pınar Nacak also made a presentation for the Antalya delegation regarding the activities and projects of İzmir Commodity Exchange.

After the signing ceremony, Mr. Halil Bülbül and the accompanying delegation visited the cotton and raisins transaction halls of the ICE and got detailed information about the functioning mechanism of and sessions in the halls.

Who has joined the platform so far?

With the cooperation protocols signed, Hungarian National Trading House, Italian Online Commodities Exchange, Pakistan Mercantile Exchange, and Rize, Aksaray, Çanakkale, Iğdır, Kütahya, Karaman, Denizli, Çankırı, Karacabey, Erzurum, Kayseri and Kozan Commodity Exchanges joined the online electronic trading platform developed by the ICE.

Members of the institutions that join the system get the chance to promote their companies and products on the E-Commodity bazaar portal and cooperate with many different local and foreign companies that are also registered in the system.
