The ICE holds the second Instagram photo and video contest
As one of the rare institutions that has witnessed the political and economic life of Türkiye for the last 125 years, İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) organizes an Instagram photograph contest on grapes/raisins and fig that are the most-exported products of the Aegean region. The total amount of reward has been set as 28.000 Turkish Liras for the contest which will be held over the official Instagram account of the ICE, @izmirticaretborsasi, in categories of Grapes/Raisins Photograph, Grapes/Raisins Video, Fig Photograph and Fig Video between 15 June and 30 September 2017.
Stating that everyone eligible as per the conditions set out in the contest specification could participate in the contest with the photographs and/or videos they would take regarding the production, processing, harvesting and drying processes of grapes and figs, Mrs. Işınsu Kestelli, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the ICE, said, "The first Instagram contest we organized last year on our Exchange Palace attracted great interest. Therefore, we decided to reorganize the contest. This year, we have determined the topic of the contest as grapes and figs which are among the most important products of export both in our region and country. We plan to continue holding the contest on different products in the coming years."
Emphasizing that we lived in the age of social media, Mrs. Kestelli added, "The statistical data regarding the use of internet, smartphones and social media show us that being mobile or reachable at all times will permanently change many fundamental habits from production to marketing in the near future. While keeping alive its traditions that have always been exemplary to Türkiye, our Exchange develops and runs projects that catch the digital era. In addition, we also try to use the social media, which is a significant environment to be present in, effectively."
How to participate in the contest?
Those who want to participate in the contest must first follow the Instagram account of İzmir Commodity Exchange (@izmirticaretborsasi). The photographs and/or videos to be taken regarding the production, processing, harvesting and drying processes of grapes and figs will need to be shared with the hashtag #itbyarisma17 and the tag @izmirticaretborsasi. A total of 28.000 Turkish Liras await the winners
In the contest to be organized in categories of Grapes/Raisins Photograph, Grapes/Raisins Video, Fig Photograph and Fig Video, the first, second and third places will be awarded 4.000, 2000 and 1000 TL, respectively.
The photos and videos participating in the contest will be evaluated by the jury comprising Mr. Ercan Korkmaz, the deputy chairperson of the Board of the ICE, the Board Members Dr. Tayfur Akın and Mr. İlhan Zincircioğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Birinci, an academic from the Department of Photography of the Faculty of Fine Arts of 9 Eylül University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet İmançer, an academic from the Communication Department of Ege University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Aşman Alikılıç, an academic from the Communication Department of Yaşar University, Mrs. Misket Dikmen, president of the İzmir Journalists Association, Mr. Kadir Kemaloğlu, head of the İzmir Branch of Photojournalists Association and Lütfü Dağtaş, chairperson of the Board of Association of Art of Photography of İzmir.
