Establishment of BORSAV

İzmir Commodity Exchange Foundation for Education, Culture and Social Integration (BORSAV) is the first foundation in Türkiye to be established by a commodity exchange.

Following the legal regulations introduced as a result of the initiatives of İzmir Commodity Exchange, BORSAV commenced its activities with the registration decision dated March 31, 2022, and the announcement published in the Official Gazette on April 22, 2022.

Board of Trustees and Governance Structure

Members of the Assembly of İzmir Commodity Exchange are recognized as ex officio members of BORSAV’s Board of Trustees.

The members of the Board of Trustees are renewed in line with the Assembly elections, while the Chair and members of the Board of Directors are elected by the Board of Trustees.

Purpose of Establishment

As stated in its foundation charter, BORSAV’s primary purpose is to contribute to the balanced growth and development of the agriculture, food and livestock sectors, as well as the industries based on these sectors.

Fields of Activity

BORSAV carries out activities to support a healthy competitive environment in the relevant sectors, develop solutions to meet professional needs, and strengthen professional discipline, ethics and solidarity.

The Foundation also organizes training programs aimed at developing human resources and raising social awareness, while supporting research designed to increase product supply, quality and productivity.

Environmental and Social Activities

BORSAV conducts programs and campaigns aimed at protecting the environment and public health, enhancing biodiversity and native genetic resources, fostering awareness of production, and passing this awareness on to younger generations.

It also aims to contribute to sustainable development by implementing social responsibility projects in the fields of agriculture, food, livestock and social development.
