Licensed Warehousing and Specialized Commodity Exchange
In order to eliminate the marketing problems of agricultural products in Türkiye and establish an efficient agricultural products market, the “Commodity Exchanges Development Project” was launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the support of the World Bank in the late 1990s.
As a result of the project, the necessary legal infrastructure was established in 2005 to implement a two-stage system consisting of “Licensed Warehousing” and “Specialized Commodity Exchange.”
The implementation of the Licensed Warehousing and Commodity Exchanges Project marked the beginning of a new era in the marketing of agricultural products in Türkiye.
Establishment of ELİDAŞ
Aegean Agricultural Products Licensed Warehousing Inc. (ELİDAŞ), which operates in the field of cotton storage, was established on January 13, 2011, under the leadership of İzmir Commodity Exchange with 19 shareholders.
ELİDAŞ completed its warehouse with a storage capacity of 15 thousand tons in the Belevi area of Selçuk district, İzmir, and commenced operations in 2013.

ELİDAŞ holds the distinction of being the first licensed warehouse in Türkiye to issue Electronic Warehouse Receipts for products delivered to a licensed warehouse.
The purchase and sale transactions of Electronic Warehouse Receipts (EWRs) issued against stored products are carried out on the Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TÜRİB).
