There is no other city on Earth whose occupation sparked a nation's struggle for independence and whose liberation heralded an entire country's freedom... 

From the first shot fired by Hasan Tahsin to the morning of September 9, 1922, when our cavalry entered the city, Izmir became a beacon of hope that kept a nation's spirit of resistance alive. That light continues to illuminate our path today as one of the most important symbols of freedom, modernity, production, entrepreneurship and a vision for the future. 

As Izmir Commodity Exchange, drawing strength from our deep-rooted history and recognizing the responsibility of representing the city of liberation, we continue to work tirelessly, sowing the seeds of the future through reason, science and technology.

On this momentous day, we commemorate with respect, gratitude and reverence all our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Izmir, especially our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Happy 104th anniversary of Izmir's liberation.
