Project Summary
The Holding on to Our Roots with Technology (HOTOR) Project aimed to enhance sustainable employment in the agricultural sector through technological transformation based on equality and within the framework of the decent jobs of the future approach.
Within the scope of the project, the information technology competencies of young farmers, higher education students and graduates were assessed, while meetings and workshops were held with relevant stakeholders to determine the conceptual framework of the training programs.
An online learning platform, mobile application and virtual reality modules were developed. Theoretical and practical training programs were organized for students and graduates studying agriculture and food-related fields, young farmers, and young people whose families work as seasonal agricultural workers.
The project activities were completed with the “Technology and Sustainability in Agriculture Conference” and a final meeting.
Project Outputs
Sixty young people specialized in agricultural technologies, facilitating their transition into the labor market.
Young people's adaptation to smart agricultural technologies and their digital competencies were improved by 80%, contributing to the development of a “new-generation young farmer” profile.
A total of 200 agricultural workers, including 120 women and 60 refugees, enhanced their professional skills through technology-based sectoral training programs.
