In a letter received from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), with reference to a letter from the Ministry of Trade, details of the relevant letter addressed to the Regional Directorates of Customs and Foreign Trade are provided regarding the necessary measures to keep customs administrations open, taking into account the provisions of the legislation currently in force concerning overtime work, in order to meet export-related requests by the end of May 31, 2026, and to ensure the swift completion of all procedures related to export declarations.
The timely completion and closure of export declarations is of significant importance in achieving Türkiye’s export targets. In this regard, taking into consideration the 9-day Eid al-Adha holiday, the importance of declaration procedures is emphasized. Necessary measures should be taken to keep customs administrations open, in accordance with the applicable legislation on overtime work, in order to meet requests concerning exports and related customs procedures by the end of May 31, 2026. Furthermore, to prevent any disruption to export and related customs procedures, maximum attention should be given by the relevant Customs Directorates to the registration of export declarations, the swift completion of all procedures for registered export declarations, including inspections, and the acceleration of these processes.
Kind regards,
