On April 21, 2026, the “Green Deal and the 2026 Transformation in the Agri-Food Sector: Export Standards and New Trade Rules” training will be held online via Zoom from 13:30 to 15:30, organized by our Exchange in cooperation with the İzmir Commodity Exchange Education, Culture and Social Integration Foundation (BORSAV), with Burcu Başaran as the instructor.

“The 2026 updates to the European Green Deal concerning the agriculture and food sectors have moved beyond being a recommendation and have become a commercial necessity.
This training addresses the latest developments affecting all processes of ITB members, from production to export, with a direct sector-specific focus:
- From Farm to Fork 2026;
The latest developments in EU pesticide restrictions for agricultural production, new fertilizer regulations, and sustainability criteria in livestock farming.
- New ‘Green’ Barriers to Export;
Carbon footprint declarations required for food products entering the EU market and the impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism on agricultural input costs.
- Food Labelling and ‘Verifiable’ Sustainability;
The requirement to substantiate environmental claims on product packaging and new bans on ‘greenwashing’.
- Supply Chain and Traceability;
Digital traceability requirements in global food supply chains and new areas of opportunity for İzmir agricultural products.”
