Agriculture and agro-based industries play a critical role in economic development; however, in recent years, interest in agricultural production has been declining and the agricultural population has been aging. As a solution to this issue, İzmir Commodity Exchange has been organizing a project idea competition entitled "Agriculture Rises with Youth" (TGY) every year since 2016 in order to enhance sustainability and competitiveness in agriculture, promote modern agricultural practices, strengthen young people's ties with the agricultural sector, and encourage them to develop innovative projects in the field of agriculture.
The competition is organized under five main categories: “Smart Agriculture”, “Environmentally Friendly Agriculture”, “Agricultural Marketing, Branding and Communication”, “Rural Development” and “Crop and Livestock Production”. Interest among young people in the competition continues to increase each year, and cash prizes are awarded to the highest-ranking projects following evaluations conducted by an independent selection committee. In addition, projects deemed worthy of exhibition are showcased at İzmir Commodity Exchange events, enabling them to reach a wider audience.
We invite all young people interested in agriculture to apply to the Project Idea Competition, which we are organizing for the 10th time this year.
