“European Green Deal and the 2026 Transformation in the Agrifood Sector: Export Standards and New Trade Rules” Training

On April 21, 2026, the training program titled “European Green Deal and the 2026 Transformation in the Agrifood Sector: Export Standards and New Trade Rules” will be held online (ZOOM) between 13:30 and 15:30, organized by our Commodity Exchange in cooperation with the Izmir Commodity Exchange Education, Culture and Social Integration Foundation (BORSAV), and conducted by instructor Burcu Başaran.

 

Content:

"The 2026 updates to the European Green Deal concerning the agriculture and food sectors have moved beyond recommendations and have now become commercial requirements.

This training addresses the latest developments affecting all processes of İTB members, from production to export, with a direct ''sector-specific focus'':

- Farm to Fork 2026;

The latest developments regarding EU pesticide restrictions in agricultural production, new fertilizer regulations, and sustainability criteria in livestock farming.

- New 'Green' Barriers to Exports;

The 'Carbon Footprint' declaration required for food products entering the EU market and the impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism on agricultural input costs.

- Food Labelling and 'Verifiable' Sustainability;

The requirement to substantiate environmental claims on product packaging and new prohibitions against 'Greenwashing'.

- Supply Chain and Traceability;

Digital traceability requirements in global food supply chains and new areas of opportunity for agricultural products from Izmir."
