TOBB KGK holds its Ordinary General Assembly in the ICE

The Ordinary General Assembly of the TOBB İzmir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Board (KGK) coordinated by İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) was held in the New Assembly Hall of the ICE on Thursday, 17.03.2017.

In the General Assembly where the 2016 activity report of the Executive Committee was presented and Zuhal Mansfield, who is the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Mansfield Mining, Industry and Construction Co. Ltd., and Berrin Akar Rasuli, the owner of the Alsancak Dostlar Boyoz Bakery, were hosted as guest speakers, Award Ceremony of the Ege University Business Plan Contest was also held.

Having presented the 2016 activity report in the meeting, Dr. Pınar Nacak who is the Deputy Secretary General of the ICE and the natural member of the Executive Committee of TOBB İzmir KGK said, "As İzmir Commodity Exchange, we have been running the coordination of the KGK for the last two terms. It gives us pleasure and adds value. Our Executive Committee carries out these intensive activities with your support. We thank you for your contribution, performance and support."

Stating that they continued to carry out their work in order to further enhance women entrepreneurship and leadership and create career development opportunities for women by teaching them the ways of personal development, Aysel Öztezel, President of the Executive Committee of Izmir Women Entrepreneurs Board of the TOBB, said "Many activities and works focusing on increasing women's entrepreneurial power have been carried out recently. Looking at the last 5 years, a 42 percent increase in the number of women entrepreneurs shows that all these efforts have not been wasted and that the ultimate goal is about to be reached."

Zuhal Mansfield, who was the guest of honour of the meeting and the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Mansfield Mining, Industry and Construction Co. Ltd., shared her experiences with the women entrepreneurs from İzmir. Mansfield said, "We need to understand the era we are in very well. The world consumes things that are a combination of information, entertainment and communication. We must integrate all of these elements into our work. Our life goes on before three screens. If we are not fun and present in one of these three screens, we need to change immediately. The generation I call gold collars who are pro-active, team-oriented and have a full grasp of knowledge technologies gains more importance day by day. We will either be a gold collar or learn to work with them."

After briefly telling the story of her bakery, Berrin Akar Rasuli, the owner of the Alsancak Dostlar Boyoz Bakery, said "I and my team are aware that we carry an important cultural heritage. Without giving up the essence of the tradition, we blended old and new with innovation."

Meltem Koday, a lecturer from the Business Administration Faculty of 9 Eylül University, emphasized that they brought 300 students together with over 70 guest speakers, who were also women entrepreneurs that shared their experiences with the students, in the courses that were organized in cooperation with TOBB İzmir Women Entrepreneurs Board for the 3rd and 4th grade students.
