Adnan Yıldırım honours the Assembly Meeting of the ICE

The ordinary Assembly Meeting of İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) was held on Tuesday, 31 January 2017. ICE chairperson Mrs. Işınsu Kestelli, president Barış Kocagöz, representatives of the surrounding Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, and members of the Board of Directors and Assembly of the ICE were present in the meeting that hosted General Manager of Türk Eximbank, Mr. Adnan Yıldırım.

Mr. Adnan Yıldırım, General Manager of the Türk Eximbank, said "Our government undertook many significant works in order to encourage the production and industry and enhance the employment opportunities in the country particularly in the recent periods of 2016 when we experienced quite many adverse events. Many projects have been started to support and increase exports and investments, and I think that these projects will yield positive outcomes for our economy in 2017".

Stating that the Eximbank was a very large establishment that supports Turkish exporters and all sorts of foreign and domestic traders in or with our country, Mr. Yıldırım added "Türk Eximbank provides short, medium and long term support in every process from the beginning of the production to the after-sale services. We have increased the limit of use for Credit Guarantee Fund (KGF), which was very limited earlier, in favour of the consumers and declared this new good news in İzmir. Aegean Regional Directorate of our Bank that rapidly enlarges its scope of services has reached a great capacity to effect many transactions from the early 2017."

Following his opening remarks, Mr. Yıldırım made an informative presentation about the Türk Eximbank and loan and insurance programmes it offers for the ICE members and other participants of the meeting.

The ICE chairperson Işınsu Kestelli said, "We are about to leave behind the first month of 2017, on the eve of which we were shaken by the vicious terrorist attack in İstanbul. This year has already made itself clear that it will be tougher than we have expected. From the cross-border operations to the intrigues of credit rating agencies, from the fluctuations in foreign exchange to the increasing unemployment, from the compulsive applications of the US President Trump to the referendum, there are many challenges we have to deal with this year. We do not have the luxury of sinking into pessimism. I believe that 2017 will be a year in which difficulties will gradually diminish and the balance will eventually be achieved starting from the second half of the year."

Having expressed that as İzmir Commodity Exchange, they believed in the value of especially the children and the soil that is the source of agricultural production, Işınsu Kestelli said "Increasing urbanization and rapid digital transformation unfortunately cause our children to grow up without knowing the agriculture and thus the soil. From this point of view, we, as an institution serving the agricultural sector of our country for 126 years, have decided to combine these two important concepts, children and the soil, in a single project". She also added that they would share the details of the project with the public soon.

At the end of the meeting, the chairperson Işınsu Kestelli and the president Barış Kocagöz presented a plaque of appreciation to Türk Eximbank General Manager Mr. Adnan Yıldırım in memory of the day.
