ICE becomes the first once again

İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) became one of the participants of United Nations Global Compact, world's largest sustainability platform, which represents 44 sectors from 170 countries and continues its struggles with the participation of more than 9 thousand companies employing over 50 million people based on 10 principles formed on the basis of United Nations (UN) universal principles in the fields of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Expressing their satisfaction about getting accepted to this platform as İzmir Commodity Exchange, the ICE chairperson Işınsu Kestelli said, "Our service quality will improve even better thanks to this platform which aims to create a global sustainable companies and stakeholders movement in order to reach a better world from all aspects. We aim to improve our corporate strategy and activities under all circumstances, taking into consideration the superiority of human rights. We will also fully align our corporate policies with the UN Global Compact principles that include areas such as improving the services our members receive as well as promoting employee rights and developing environmentally friendly technologies. To this end, we are planning to come up with strategic actions to improve broader social goals such as UN Sustainable Development Goals through national and international collaborations."

Having stated that İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE), which has gained a significant and respected place among other commodity exchanges with the local and national projects it has run in addition to the basic exchange services it has provided, led the way for many major breakthroughs, Mrs. Kestelli said, "We are proud to be the first institution under the TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye), which is also a participant of the UN Global Compact. We will continue to work hard to set an example for our employees and members and improve our service quality with this responsibility and duty awareness."

İzmir Commodity Exchange will work to promote this commitment and initiative among its members and stakeholders via communication and awareness-raising campaigns, and it will try to participate regional and national events to be organized by the platform. In addition to the social responsibility projects currently underway, it will also strive to develop new projects and carry out awareness-raising activities in the context of the UN Global Compact. The ICE will draw up a Communication on Engagement every two years as required by its participation to the UN Global Compact.
