The deadline has been extended to 15 December 2017 for the "Agriculture Rises with the Youngsters" idea contest, which has been organized by İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) for the second time this year to support young people who want to work in the field of agriculture. Just like the previous year, the contest will be held under the following topics: Plant and Animal Production, Agricultural Marketing and Branding, Information and Technology in Agriculture, Rural Development and Women.
Competitors will be able to apply for the contest by filling in and signing the application form available at www.itb.org.tr/duyurular and submitting the application form by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by hand to the ICE.
Stating that they extended the deadline for applications to give more youngsters a chance, Işınsu Kestelli, chairperson of the Board of Directors of İzmir Commodity Exchange (ICE), said that agriculture played a very important role in sustainable and inclusive growth, and that's why they fully supported domestic products and production. Indicating that the researches carried out in recent years pointed out that agrarian population had been aging in Turkey, Mrs. Kestelli stressed that this development was not pleasant for a country of agriculture like Turkey and that they were very pleased to encourage youngsters to have an interest in agriculture and to give them a chance to assert themselves in the field of agriculture.
As a result of the evaluations to be carried out by the jury comprising our Board members, academicians and representatives of official institutions upon completion of the applications on 15 December 2017, the first, second and third projects will be awarded 5000, 3000 and 2000 Turkish Liras, respectively. In addition to the first three, three more contesters, whose ideas are deemed by the jury worth awarding, will be awarded 1000 TL each. The results will be announced to the public through the press and the website of İzmir Commodity Exchange, www.itb.org.tr, and the awards will be presented to the winners at a ceremony to be held on the date to be set by the ICE.
